Obituary of Brian Alan Aldrich
February 6, 1960 - March 6, 2019

Brian A. Aldrich, 59, passed away suddenly March 6, 2019. Beloved husband of Tara T. (Hughes) Aldrich; devoted father of Jacob (Lindsay) Aldrich, Brian T. Aldrich and Collin Aldrich; brother of Chuck (Becky) Aldrich, Bruce (Cheryl) Aldrich, and Laura Aldrich; son-in-law of Thomas N. Hughes, Jr; brother-in-law of John (Beth) Hughes. Brian is survived by many additional loving family members and friends including Ryan "Taco" McDermott whom he loved as a son.

Brian was preceded in death by: his parents, Charles and Nancy (Hauschulz) Aldrich; mother-in-law, M. Frances (Burke) Hughes; and sister-in-law Beth (Hughes) Cooper.

Brian was born on February 6, 1960 in Hartford, Connecticut and raised in Wethersfield, Connecticut. He became an Eagle Scout at the age of 14 which focused his commitment to serving others. He had a lifelong passion for the great outdoors and loved to run, hike, ski, and camp. A problem solver by nature, Brian could fix and build just about anything and was always ready and willing to lend a hand.

He graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1978 where he was a member of the wrestling team and the Wethersfield Eagles Marching Band where he played clarinet with his long-time friend Keith Froleiks. His love of nature led him to his favorite state of New Hampshire where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Forestry Management and Business at the University of New Hampshire in 1982. While there, Brian made lifelong bonds with his brothers in Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity including, but not limited to, John Knight and John Marini. After college, he fought forest fires out west then returned to Connecticut and earned a certificate in Computer Programming from CPI. This line of work brought Brian back to New Hampshire where he met and married Tara (Hughes), his wife of 30 years, in October of 1988. Together, they raised their three sons Jake, Brian, and Collin. Brian served as a Scout Leader of Mason Troop 750, sharing his passion with his sons as each of them followed in his footsteps and achieved their own Eagle Scout ranks.

Occupationally, Brian worked in the computer software industry where he was regarded as a world class sales consultant and an expert in the application software and billing domain. He spent the last ten years of his career traveling nationally and internationally as a Principal Sales Consultant with Oracle, a Fortune 500 global sales company, where he was very much loved and respected.

At home, Brian was very much a family man and was present at all of his son's
"firsts"-first steps, first swimming lessons, first Holy Communion, all of their Scouting activities, camping trips, merit badges, Eagle Scout awards ceremonies, their graduations, and most recently his eldest son's wedding. He even became a black belt in karate when his two oldest sons took up the martial art. He prioritized his family his entire life. He loved being a father, and he loved his sons, and more than anything, he loved his wife, Tara.

Brian was the love of Tara's life-her best friend and confidant, loyal to the end. His quiet reserve and strength balanced her outgoing vivacious manner. They never had to worry about anything-especially their love. He was a man of faith who, as a Methodist, walked the Christian walk with his Catholic wife and sons for 30 years. He then asked to be received into the Catholic Church two years ago-an answer to Tara's prayers that further tightened their bond; She is confident that they will meet again.
