John F. "Jack" Marvin, age 75, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 30, 2019 in the comfort of his home. He was born Wednesday, August 11, 1943 in Hamilton, Ohio to William H. and Marjorie (nee Schorr) Marvin.
Just out of High School, Jack joined the US Marine Corps. He was proud of his service sometimes wondering what it would have been like to have made the military his life. Jack continued with his servants heart as he served locally with HonorGuard team honoring other fallen veterans. Taking pride in his work and with true dedication, Jack retired from Avon after more than 30 years.
With a heart the size of Texas, Jack loved animals. These furry companions were always considered part of the family. Jack also had a passion for motorcycles. Well into his 30's, he was racing around the track keeping up with and often beating the much younger competition. He often rode with other members of the Pot Bellied pigs, Middletown Moose Lodge 501. Jack was also quite the pool shark and enjoyed going to West Chester Activity Center.
Jack was preceded in death by: parents, William and Marjorie Marvin; wife, Judy C. (nee Stevens) Marvin; and brother, Michael "Mick" Marvin.
Jack is survived by: beloved friend, Kathy Crosby; brother, Robert Marvin; and close cousins, Mary Lou (Larry) Chamberlain, Alan (Geneva) Marsh and Stephen (Fred) Marsh. Jack is also survived by Kathy's family that he loved as his own: father, Paul Pieper; daughters, Jennifer Crosby (Ryan) Knorr and Bethany Crosby (Kevin) McDonald; grandsons, Crosby Paul McDonald and Gabe Knorr; and sisters, Linda (Jon) Mitchell and Nan (Paul) Johnson.
Jack will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Graveside Service will be Friday, February 8, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Friday, February 8, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with Words of Remembrance to follow at 3:00 PM at West Chester Activity Center, 7900 Cox Road., West Chester, Ohio 45069.
