Raymond F. Mirizzi

Raymond F. Mirizzi , of Liberty Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the comfort of his home.  He was born Monday, June 6, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Samuel and Dolores (nee Burke) Mirizzi.

On Saturday, November 26, 1977, Ray married his best-friend, Jackie Ward.  Together, they would raise three boys to become hard-working respectful adults.  With an open door policy at the Mirizzi home, the place was constantly buzzing with testosterone as the boys always had friends over.  There were lots of laughter, advice and food shared around the table during those years.

With a love of the outdoors, Ray received his first college degree in Ornamental Horticulture and had his own landscaping business for years.  He enjoyed camping and attending high-adventure trips and shared his passion as a Scout Leader for over 22 years helping more than 20 young men achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

Ray collected cars and loved taking them to car shows. He also collected coins, stamps, knives and guitars. He enjoyed going to Reds games and was a season ticket holder for many years. He also enjoyed golfing. Ray adored his family and always put others before himself.

Described as the Energizer Bunny with endless energy, Ray retired from Cincinnati State as Director of Facility Services after 37 years.  Following his extended retirement of four days, he was back to work as Director of Operations and Maintenance at Northern Kentucky University for 6 years.  Ray's ability to fix about anything was certainly helpful around thehouse.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Mirizzi.

Ray is survived by: his loving wife of 41 years, Jackie (nee Ward) Mirizzi; sons, Matt (Brett), Josh and Tim; mother, Dolores (nee Burke) Mirizzi; and siblings, twin brother, John (Lois) Mirizzi, Rose (late Rick) Streithorst, James Mirizzi and Joseph (Carrie) Mirizzi; and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Prayer Service will be Tuesday at 12:00 noon with Father Simon Peter presiding at the Funeral Home.  Interment will immediately follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
