Scott D. Blount

Scott Douglas Blount, age 60 from Liberty Township, passed away quietly on 2 Jan 2019 after a brief but devastating illness, at UC West Chester Hospital, surrounded by family.  He was born 29 August 1958 in Hamilton, OH to Earl and Ruth Blount.  Scott was a 1976 graduate of Hamilton Taft High School, and married the love of his life, Kathy Jo (Flannery) on 22 Apr 1978.

He held jobs at Long-Stanton Manufacturing, Deerfield Manufacturing, Smyth Automotive and Champion Windows. Scott enjoyed collecting, bowling, fishing, wood crafting, and making board games.  He was a former member of the Hamilton-Fairfield Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathy; his parents Earl and Ruth Blount; his brother, Rick Blount; and his wife's father, Don Flannery.  Scott is survived by his loving daughter, Christa and her husband Jeff Hobe, beautiful granddaughters Kathryn and Keira; mother-in-law Crystal (Flannery) Pierson and her husband David of Mansfield, OH; brother-in-law Donald Flannery of Middletown, OH; sister Cheri Doughty and her husband Dean of Columbus, IN; brother Mel Blount of Bellbrook, OH; 6 nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, 13 Jan 2019 at 2:00 PM at Faith Community United Methodist Church, 8230 Cox Road, West Chester, OH 45069, followed by a gathering of friends and family to celebrate Scott's life.  The family requests donations to Stepping Forward and Food Pantry of Faith Community UMC in lieu of flowers.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, technicians and staff of the UC West Chester Hospital Intensive Care Unit for their professionalism, outstanding care and compassion during Scott's 15 days in the ICU.  We also wish to thank the EMS Unit from Liberty Township for their professionalism while Scott was under their care.
