Barry R. Burress
, age 71, of Maineville, Ohio, passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 10, 2018. He was born Monday, February 24, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio to William Luther and Zelpha (nee Bernard) Burress, the tallest and best looking out of 12 children.
Growing up, Barry worked as a Caddy at the Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati. He never lost his love for the game and could be found on the green any chance he got. Answering the phone using the comical nickname he gave himself or talking your ear off at the grocery, Barry was most likely one of the most entertaining and funny guys you knew.
Giver could also be used to describe Barry. Serving others and placing their needs before his own, fueled his energy. Whether he stopped to help a stranger place the groceries in the trunk, shoveled the driveways of his neighbors or was taking classes to help care for a friend, providing others with a smile brought Barry joy daily.
On Saturday, September 20, 1969, Barry married the love of his life, Dianne Ray. Together, they would experience raising their daughter and granddaughter. Family was second best only to God. Barry never lost sight of the many blessings in his life, knowing they were gifts from the Lord. The love he had for his Savior was a passion he shared with many.
Barry was preceded in death by: his parents, William and Zelpha Burress; and siblings, William L. Burress Jr., Ronald Burress, Shirley Manuel, P. Richard "Dick" Burress and Gerald Burress.
Barry is survived by: his wife of 49 years, Dianne Burress; daughter, Stephanie Burress; granddaughter, Sage Burress; siblings, Charles (Kevin) Burress, Judy (Jeff) Hornsby, Joseph (Patti) Burress, Karen (William) Dunn and Kimberly (Daniel) Proctor; best-friend he loved as a brother, Dennis Rees; and many other loving family members and friends.
