Ginger Fenton

Ginger (nee Durbin) Fenton , age 84, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 11, 2018, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home.  She was born Thursday, August 2, 1934 in Akron, Ohio to Ernest and Mary (nee Locke) Durbin.

Ginger received her BA from Akron University.  As a college student, she met the love of her life, Jim Fenton.  On Friday, April 12, 1957, Ginger and Jim were married.  Together they would raise two sons that they were extremely proud of.  The pride Ginger and Jim had in their family continued to grow as they welcomed eight grandchildren.

Ginger was passionate about educating and supporting children.  She was a teacher for several years in Akron before moving to the West Chester area where she was a substitute teacher in Fairfield School systems teaching mostly in West Elementary and sometimes South Elementary.

A social butterfly, Ginger was a friendly and outgoing person.  She belonged to the Beckett Ridge County Club and was active with the Social Committee for many years.  Ginger will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Ginger was preceded in death by: her parents, Ernest and Mary Durbin; and brothers, Joseph Durbin & Gary Durbin.

Ginger is survived by: her loving husband of over 61 years, Jim Fenton; sons, Jim (Ruth) Fenton and Kevin (Sheila) Fenton; grandchildren, Erin Fenton, Megan Fenton, Abby Fenton, Ryan Fenton, Katie Fenton, Johnny Fenton, Tommy Fenton and Joey Fenton; and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069.  Memorial Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM at the Church with Father Don West presiding.  Inurnment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
