Earl Fox

December 7, 1924 — August 29, 2018

Earl Fox, age 93, of Morrow, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in the comfort of his home.  He was born Sunday, December 7, 1924 in Saint Helens, Kentucky to Joe and Minnie (nee Angel) Fox.

Serving in the United States Army during World War II, Earl received the European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 bronze stars and the Victory Medal.  On Saturday, March 20, 1948, in Newport, Kentucky, Earl married his best-friend and sweetheart, Effie Cockerham.  Over the next 55 years of their marriage, they would watch their children grow-up and start families of their own.

Living each day to the fullest, Earl could always be seen with a smile that would warm your heart.  Working for Fisher Body from January 10, 1949 to December 1, 1984, Earl was part of United Auto Workers Local 233.  A hard-working man, Earl also hauled water to many residents over the years earning the nickname "Water Man".  He enjoyed being outdoors and had a green thumb that often produced more vegetables than the family could eat.

A lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds, there was nothing more important to Earl than his family.  He worked hard to provide for them yet still managed to find the time to coach his son's baseball teams.  "You learn by listening, not by talking" is advice Earl often shared with those he loved.

Earl was preceded in death by: parents, Joe and Minnie Fox; his wife, Effie (nee Cockerham) Fox; great-grandchild, Harper Leigh Fox; and siblings, Zola Mae Fox, Finley Fox, Lucille Neely and Betty Fox Dunaway.

Earl is survived by: son, Dennis (Evelyn) Fox; daughter, Connie (Michael) Langdon; grandchildren, Amy Fox, Sara (Dan) King and David (Amber) Fox; great-grandchildren, Stella & Nolan King and Everett & Ellington Fox; and siblings, Robert Fox, Dorsey Fox and Agnes Baker.
