Sean M. Wilkerson, 36, of Anderson Township, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Sean is the beloved husband of Michelle Cheek, expectant father to a much-loved daughter, devoted son of Carl and Candice Wilkerson, loving brother of Christy Wilkerson, son-in-law of Donald and Mary Cheek, brother-in-law of Shannon Cheek and Colleen Cheek (Pat Stapp), and best human to his pup, Sebastian and cats, Ringo and Ivy.
Sean threw himself into everything he did with passion, curiosity, and brilliance. He constantly challenged himself to keep learning and creating, from brewing delicious beers to flying through books on philosophy and quantum physics to starting to write a book that was (almost irritatingly) amazing from the very first sentence. There was probably nothing Sean loved more than crafting a good argument, usually for something he had strong opinions about, but sometimes just for his own amusement.
Sean was filled with love and gave happiness and laughter to others every day. He cared deeply about supporting what was good and right no matter the consequences and was not afraid to rage against the wrongs in the world. His thoughtfulness and humor were evident in a million little ways that his family and friends will be able to carry in their hearts during this difficult time. He took the time to pick different flowers to build bouquets for Michelle. He brought Sebastian his own Baconators when he went to pick up lunch (downgraded to the Son of Baconator after Michelle complained). He made a blanket hammock in his lap for Ivy to sit in almost every night and only minimally complained when she would bounce off him like a springboard. He made a point to cuddle Ringo in private because he knew that Ringo was far too cool to openly compete with Ivy and Seb for affection. He scoured the aisles for the perfect Scotch to try with his dad. He was so proud to see every new creation that his sister made. He called his mom for cooking tips because he knew that nothing could compare to the food she made for them growing up.
There are no words that adequately describe how profoundly Sean impacted those who loved him. His life was too brief, but he leaves behind a legacy of infinite and everlasting love.
Visitation will be held at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 6 - 8 PM. After the visitation, friends and family are invited for a celebration of life at MadTree Brewing (3301 Madison Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45209) from 8-10:30 PM in the Oakley Room.
It might seem different, but in lieu of flowers the family would like people to do something special for someone else in Sean’s memory and share that moment with Michelle in a card or message. Sean showed his love in so many little ways, and knowing that little acts of love are being spread in his honor is very meaningful to the family.
Those messages can be mailed to Michelle Cheek Wilkerson at 5025 Barnsby Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45244. If you share this moment on social media, please use #loveinmemoryofsean .
If someone is more comfortable with a donation, donating to the SPCA or a local animal shelter in Sean’s name would be a fitting way to honor his memory.
