Joshua G. Mortonstrauss

January 21, 1971 — August 7, 2018

Joshua G. MortonStrauss , age 47, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, August 7, 2018.

Born Thursday January 21 1971, in Bethesda Maryland, Josh grew up in Bearsville, New York, attending Woodstock Day  School and Onteora High School. He studied communications at SUNY Geneseo.  One fall evening in 1992, Josh attended a party where he met Kathleen.  At first glance, both Josh and Kathleen knew that they were ment to be together for the rest of their lives.  On Sunday, December 28, 1997, they sealed the deal and were married in Syracuse, New York in the middle of a raging snow storm.

An avid sports fan, Josh enjoyed, wrestling, track, and playing football and rugby and passed that love on to his boys.  Watching them on the ice and the pitch, representing Moeller High School,  made his heart swell.  He did whatever it took to be on the sidelines cheering them on and making sure the Ref's were making the correct calls.  No one had a doubt that Moeller pride ran deep in his veins.

A handyman, Josh could fix anything.  He owned a landscaping company in Atlanta, GA and most enjoyed building rock walls, often lifting and moving the monstrous stones by himself.

While his body was strong, his mind was even stronger.  Josh enjoyed reading alternative histories, and studying World War I and World War II as it told a story.  Music was also very important to Josh.  His taste in music could be defined as ecclectic. You never knew what was going to be on his playlist, Johnny Cash, Eminem, Queen and Billy Joel all shared equal billing.

Josh is survived by: his loving and devoted wife of almost 21 years, Kathleen A. MortonStrauss; sons, Ryan MortonStrauss and Brennan MortonStrauss; mom, Antoinette "Toni" Henderson; father, Gordon Strauss; dad, Richard Morton; brothers, Erik (Stefanie) Morton and Cody (Jenn) Morton; nephew and niece, Jack Morton and Annie Morton.  He was also blessed with many loving family members and a strong community of friends.
