Harry served in the United States Army AirCorp during World War II. A pilot of the B24, his plane was shot down. By the Grace of God, Harry and his crew were able to parachute to safety. Later in life, Harry wrote his memoirs in a book giving his family a gft they will forever cherish.
A business man himself, Harry worked in the manufacturing industry until he was 65 years old. Although he "retired", Harry was actively involved with SCORE for 25 years. He passionately met with, counseled and mentored many new entrepreneurs entering the business world. Harry provided many hours advising on business plans and strategies and did so with a smile and encouraging words.
Harry was passionate about golfing and snow skiing. There were many family trips taken to New Hampshire to ski until they discovered Colorado which still remains a favorite place. The doctors finally had to convince Harry that it was time to put the clubs and skis down when he was well into his 80's.
Harry was preceded in death by: his parents, Harry and Kathryn Rohde.
Harry is survived by: his devoted wife of 73 years, Ruth M. (nee Miller) Rohde; daughters, Gayle (Stephen) Smith and Dr. Kristen Rohde; son, Mark (Lori) Rohde; grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Smith and Sarah Rohde; and a great-granddaughter, Rose Smith.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM at The Christian Village at Mason Chapel.
