Donald A. Selke , age 79, of West Chester, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was born Thursday, November 17, 1938 in Rogers City, Michigan to Alexander and June (nee Sheffer) Selke.

In 1955, at the young age of 17, Donald left Michigan to join The Sheffer Corporation cleaning floors and doing odd jobs. He would leave Sheffer in 1957 to join the Marines, being released to the Reserves in 1960. On Saturday, September 3, 1960 Donald married his life-long sweetheart, Rita V. Hoeft. While working full-time, Donald attended night school at University of Cincinnati to work on his degree. After thirteen years of hard work and dedication, he received his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Donald retired in 1998 from The Sheffer Corporation as Vice President of Sales.

Donald was preceded in death by: his parents, Alexander and June Selke; and his brothers, Roger Selke and James Selke.

Donald is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Rita V. Selke; daughter, Rene Fletcher; son, Jim (Darlene) Selke; grandchildren, Aaron Fletcher, Ian Fletcher, Alex Fletcher, Kimberlyn Selke, Victoria Selke and Troy Selke; great-grandchildren, Jacob Fletcher and Jade Brown; sister, Gail (Al) Pardike; and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 7393 Dimmick Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Matt Byrd officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church.
