Ruth Marie Shannon

Ruth M. Shannon , age 90, of Liberty Township, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at West Chester Hospital.  She was born Saturday, September 3, 1927 in Ashland, Kentucky to George and Edith (nee Kurtz) Ritchie.

Ruth was proud to be a Registered Nurse and took great pride in caring for others.  She enjoyed working in her gardens and creating beautiful scenery to her home.  Going antiquing with Joni was something Ruth always looked forward to and often brought her treasures home.  An avid reader, her home was filled with books with her favorite being Christian Novels.

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents, George and Edith Ritchie; and siblings, George Ritchie, Gladys Bower, Ruby Euriech and Ralph Ritchie.

Ruth is survived by: her children, Joni Allen, Kai Shannon and Bill Shannon, Jr.; grandchildren, Alex (Jen) Allen and Katie (Kyle) Kroemer; great-granddaughter, Emmy Kroemer with a great-grandson on the way; brother, Howard Ritchie; and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 19, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Funeral Service will be on Monday at 1:00 PM with Rev. Matthew Liddick officiating at the Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to American Heart Association.
