Sheila L. Wiedemer

October 14, 1941 — February 22, 2018

Sheila L. Wiedemer (nee Roach) 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 22, 2018 in West Chester, OH. Born in Cincinnati to John and Anne Roach. Sheila is the beloved wife of Jerry Wiedemer, devoted mother of Gretchen (Steve) Carlotti, Sarah (Ian) Kirson, Mary (Paul) Knuth and Matt Wiedemer, loving grandmother of Patrick, Michael and Megan Carlotti, David, Elianna and Talia Kirson, Max, Ben and Zach Knuth and Payton and Piper Wiedemer, dear sister of Sister Joan Roach, Deborah North and the late Mary Roach.


Sheila attended Ursuline High School and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph College with a teaching degree. During the first 25 years of her marriage, Sheila lived and taught in various locations including Connecticut, Philadelphia, Milan Italy, Minnesota and Chicago. After returning to Cincinnati in 1990 she spent her years teaching second grade for 10 years at Saint Francis Seraph School at Fourth and Vine Street. She had the pleasure of working for her good friend Sister Janet Linz. Later teaching at Saint Ursula Villa for 6 years assisted by her good friend Brooks Byam. She then served as a Warren County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for the last 10 years with her good friend Malia Mumma.


Sheila loved her and cared for her collies, Brodie and Summer. She enjoyed travel and during the last 10 years visited every one of the seven continents. She just returned from South America and Antarctica and was planning a trip to the Artic.


Visitation at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 9:30 until 11 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Susanna Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason at 11:30 AM.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lavatus Powell Program at Purcell Marion HS, 2935 Hackberry Street, Cincinnati, OH 45206.  Founded by Sheila's good friend Sister Janet Linz, this program aids kids who lack support to stay in high school and navigate into college or other career options.
