Enos Hayes

January 16, 1930 — January 11, 2018

? Enos Edison Hayes - Age 87 passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on January 11, 2018 in West Chester Ohio. He was the youngest of 6 children born to Enos Evan and Grace (Derby) Hayes of Cincinnati Ohio.

Enos Hayes was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou (Hubbard) Hayes of over 62 years in May of 2017, and is survived by his 6 children; Leah (Carl) Lataille, Cindy (Ron) Kohorst, Enos Evan II (Tracy), Viki (Marthinus) Moolman, Guy (Candy), Adam (Kathy); along with 13 grandchildren; Elisabeth Glass, Scarlett Hayes, Grant Hayes, Leo W. Glass II, Vincent Glass, Mary Baker, Savanna Hayes, Keenan Hayes, Jeffrey Hamm, Enisa Hayes, Ciera Hayes, Adam Alexander Hayes and Matthew Hayes and 8 great-grandchildren.  He was the last survivor of his siblings; brother of the late Harold, Doris Wetterstroem, Grace Ellen Harrison, Gordon Hayes and Donald Hayes.

He was a devoted and loving father who served in the Korean War and was a 20-year veteran of The United States Air Force, Retiring Tsgt. in January of 1973.  After his military career, he transitioned to civilian life and became an educator in the Cincinnati Public School System.  He also contributed to a number of local social and civic organizations serving in numerous capacities.

Enos is a direct descendant of Revolutionary War Captain Joseph Hayes, and his ancestors were one of the first families to settle the Ohio Valley in 1791. They settled at the mouth of the Great Miami River near what is now Cleves Ohio.  More family and Hayes ancestry information can be found at the Facebook page  Captain Joseph Hayes Family Reunion  All are welcome to join the 1st Sunday in October each year, meeting in Greendale, IN

Services to be held at the Montgomery Community Church, 11251 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati Ohio 45249, Saturday January 20th, 2018. Visitation at 10am, with Funeral at 11am.
