Leonore Ida Kirch

Leonore Ida Kirch (née Neumann) age 88, of Springdale, Ohio passed away peacefully January 11, 2018 at West Chester Hospital. She was born February 17, 1929 in Evansville, Indiana to Carl and Ida (née Drescher) Neumann.

Lee as she was known to her family and friends, grew up in Cincinnati, attending Withrow HS and graduating from University of Cincinnati with a degree in Food and Nutrition. She worked as a dietician at Veterans Administration hospitals in Chicago and Dayton before moving to the VA Hospital in Louisville. In Louisville, she met the love of her life William (Bill) Kirch.

Lee and Bill were married May 19, 1956 in Cincinnati. Daughter Barbara was born in Louisville and son Nicholas was born after moving back to Cincinnati. The family moved to Clinton Iowa in 1968 for Bill's job as a Chemical Engineer and Lee made many lifelong friends in Clinton through her volunteer work with Head Start, the YWCA and her love of bridge playing. She was a loving mother and supported her children's activities.

Lee and Bill moved to Barrington Illinois in 1985 and then back to Greater Cincinnati (Loveland) in 1992 to be close to family.

Lee and Bill loved travel and music. Especially memorable were their trips to Vienna, to see the opera and trips to Munich to enjoy Oktoberfest. She was especially proud of her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments.

After Bill's death in 2003, she traveled with daughter Barb to Russia and the Caribbean on a Prairie Home Companion cruise.

Lee moved to Maple Knoll in Springdale in 2014.  The family thanks the staff at Maple Knoll and West Chester Hospital for the care and love they showed Lee.

Lee was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Ida Neumann. And she is with her beloved husband Bill.
