William Matteson

William F. Matteson , age 87, of West Chester, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at West Chester Hospital.  He was born Sunday, July 20, 1930 in Hamilton, Ohio to Bertle E. and Mary Margaret (nee LaVanne) Matteson.

William worked as a mechanic for Mason Bowl and later became a plumber.  Being very active in the American Legion Post 681 brought great pride to William.  He enjoyed fishing and boating on his Pontoon and spending time with family and friends at St. Mary Lake.  William also enjoyed golfing and bowling.

William was preceded in death by: his parents, Bertle and Mary Margaret Matteson; and a daughter, Kimberly Martin.

William is survived by: his children, Melanie Ball, Phillip (Pam) Matteson, and Robin Heis; grandchildren, Amanda Clements, Candice Matteson, David Matteson, Steven Heis, Ashley Dawes, Kevin Martin and Joshua Martin; several great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Keel; brother, Donald "Bob" Matteson; significant other and life love, Nora Countz; son-in-law, Roger Martin; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason.
