Jean C. Maurer

Jean C. (nee Hauth) Maurer , age 92, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Hospice of Cincinnati, Blue Ash.  She was born Thursday, September 3, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Hubert and Kathryn (nee Wollborn) Hauth.

Growing up in Cincinnati, Jean enjoyed many styles of dancing.  She even danced with Doris Kappelhoff, who would be later known as Doris Day.  On September 2, 1947, Jean married her lifelong love, Joseph A. Maurer.  Working as a Diet Workshop Instructor, Jean met many people that would become friends.  She enjoyed teaching others about healthy eating.  A social butterfly, she could be found at the HealthPlex in the mornings and shopping for bargains in the afternoon.  Jean's favorite author was Danielle Steel, but loved reading and would buy anything on the discount table.

Jean was preceded in death by: her parents, Hubert and Kathryn Hauth; and husband, Joseph Maurer in 1996.

Jean is survived by: her daughters, Judy (Neil) Marron and Jody (Jeff) Martin; grandchildren, Bobbi (Dave) Bowers, Brad (Emily) Marron, Jamie (Justin) Campbell and Jennifer Martin; great-grandchildren, Emmett Campbell and Rosie Marron; and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Bartholomew Church, 9375 Winton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the Church at 12:30 PM.  Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery.
