James D. Mckenzie

James D. McKenzie, age 75, of Mason, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Brookdale Long Cove Pointe.  He was born Thursday, November 19, 1942 in Frostburg, Maryland.

As a retired Assistant Director of the FBI, James had many interesting stories to tell.  He had the gift of making friends anywhere he went, never meeting a stranger.  For someone who knew so many people, James could always make you feel special.  Politics also held a high priority for James.  A family man, James found great pleasure in being retired and spending quality time with those he loved most.

James was preceded in death by: his father, Jonas McKenzie; mother, Pearl (nee Hardesty) Davis; his soul-mate and life love, Sharon Wilkin; and sister, Pat Schroeder.

James is survived by: his children, James "Scott" (Maryanne) McKenzie, Tracy (Doug Langford) Herter, and Steve (Bronwyn) McKenzie; adopted son, Brad (Jennifer) McKenzie; step-son, Matt (Beth) McKenzie; daughters of Sharon Wilkin, Lisa Butlak and Jeanine Wilkin; 15 grandchildren; sister, Theresa Smith; step-father, Bob Davis; and many other loving family members and friends.

James gave very stern orders for the family to follow.  They will have a private memorial service to celebrate his life.
