Ruth M. Pierson

Ruth Pierson (nee Heikowsky), age 96, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Saturday, October 14, 2017. She was born Sunday, February 20, 1921 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Henry A. and Wilhelmine (nee Schroeder) Heikowsky.

Ruth took great pride in caring for her family and her home.  Raising her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought that beautiful smile to her face and sparkle to her eyes.  She enjoyed bowling and took pride in using a 16lb. ball!

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry and Wilhelmine Heikowsky; husbands, Richard W. Lenz and Victor E. Pierson; and siblings, Edgar Heikowsky, Helen LeFever and Robert Heikowsky.

Ruth is survived by: her children, Steve (Cheryl) Lenz, Pam (late Jim) Carroll and Mike (Diane) Pierson; grandchildren, Heather Lenz, Jennifer Piscatelli, Christine Dufrain, Shannon Sparks, Andy Pierson, Matt Pierson, Dan Pierson, Shelley Fox, John Braukman and Lauren Braukman; great-grandmother of 15; and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation and Service will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Chapel at Lindenwood Cemetery, 2324 W. Main Street, Ft. Wayne, IN 46808.  Interment will immediately follow.

Memorials may be directed to: Hospice of Cincinnati or to American Heart Association.
