MILTON HENRY HENDRICKS
Milt Hendricks went to his eternal home on October 1, 2017 following a three-year battle with cancer. He was born on May 26, 1937 to Gladys and Henry Hendricks of Shamokin, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his loving wife Karen and his four children and their spouses/partners: Dawn Hendricks Severt (Timothy); Henry Blake Hendricks; John Milton Hendricks (David Fusco); and Robert Brice Hendricks (Alison) .
Milt was a graduate of Lehigh University in Chemical Engineering and recruited out of college by Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, for what would become a successful 34-year career at P&G in Product Development. A highlight of his career was an International assignment in Canada. But it was his lifelong career as a private investor that he was the proudest of because it greatly favored his intelligence, foresight, and his strength and confidence in independent decision making.
Milt also loved the out of doors. In his early years he served as a scout, led youth on spelunking expeditions in Kentucky and fished weekly to commune in nature. Later traditions included trips with his buddies to Lake Okeechobee, FL and annual family vacations on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Milt enjoyed boating wherever he could, especially outside his homes in Naples, FL and on Landen Lake in Cincinnati. Later in life he actively explored the world with Karen, visiting 28 countries in 13 years.
Milt will be lovingly remembered for his personal confidence and intellect coupled with humility. He was true to himself in every setting, wise, and gentle. Milt was a good listener and, as a result, was thoughtful in his dealings with others. As a father, Milt loved his family in a way that allowed each member to develop their own unique talents. As a Christian and benefactor, Milt supported many charities, public projects, and individuals as well.
Milt left this world with a devout faith in his Creator and died with the assurance of eternity in Heaven.
