Joseph Weinle

October 6, 1931 — September 6, 2017

Joseph F. Weinle, 85, of West Chester, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. He was born in Cincinnati on Tuesday, October 6, 1931 to Joseph F. and Lillian (née Glandorf) Weinle. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Elaine (née McCullough) Weinle, and second wife Kathleen (née Driscoll) Weinle.

A life-long resident and lover of Cincinnati, Joe went to St. Xavier High School and Xavier University before serving his country in the Army at Fort Meade, Maryland.  He returned to Cincinnati and earned a law degree from Chase College of Law, before working in private practice for 15 years. He then served as a hearing officer for the State of Ohio.  After his retirement in 2003, he and Kathy travelled extensively.  Joe was an avid student of German language and culture…especially the beer!  He loved reading, history, and telling jokes. He was always ready with a clever play on words or funny anecdote. Throughout his life Joe made helping others a priority. Even with diminishing health he strove to serve others, acting as a volunteer at the UC Drake Center.

Joe was a long-time member of St. John Catholic Church in West Chester, where he served as lector for many years.  Joe and Kathy were active in the RCIA program and many other aspects of church life.  They loved to entertain and cook delicious meals for friends and family.

Joe is survived by his son, Joseph (Mary) Weinle; daughter, Mary Beth (Brad) Robson; four stepchildren; two brothers: Paul (Terry) Weinle and Richard (Mary) Weinle; four grandchildren, Julia Bates, Marina Robson, Denise Robson, and Mitchell Weinle; 12 step-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
