Asimina Karlos Demakes

Asimina "Mina" Demakes (nee Karlos), age 76, of Cincinnati, passed away August 24, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Christos P. Demakes. She was preceded in death by sisters Euthalia and Katherine, and brother Leonardos.

Survived by her brother Dimitrios (Mary) Karlos of Athens, Greece. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.  Devoted Godmother to many.

Mina was born in Salem, NJ, to Milton and Eftichia (nee Petsas) Karlos of Andros, Greece. She graduated from Barnard College at Columbia University and George Washington Law School. Her work as an attorney brought her to Cincinnati in 1976. Mina loved her home in the city of Wyoming, was active in the Wyoming Players, and was a member of the Cincinnati Women's Club. As a member of Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Church, she served as Panegyri Co-Chair. Along with her husband Chris, Mina devoted many years to the UC Alumni Association. Known for her welcoming and engaging spirit, she enjoyed traveling and entertaining.

Funeral service 12:30 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Holy Trinity St-Nicholas Church, 7000 Winton Road, Finneytown, OH 45224. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:30 AM until service time.
