Rev. John A. Goodworth, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2017. He is the beloved husband of Anna E. Goodworth (Trimbath), devoted father of Kathleen Rose and Douglas (Fern) Goodworth, loving grandfather of Brian (Tiffany), Bradley and Brandon Rose and great-grandfather of Macie, Tatum, Kaley, Brittney, Natalie, Robby and Brady, dear brother of Gloria Varga, also survived by many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents; John and Selma (Howells) Goodworth and his siblings; John Colhouer and Ruth Beitzel.

John served in the US Navy from January, 1944 to January, 1946 on the aircraft carrier Bon Homme Richard as a hospital corpsman. After coming back home to Pittsburgh he worked as a draftsman for Bethlehem Steel until October, 1959. He then enrolled at Eastern Nazarene College and graduated in 1965. As pastor he served the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingdon Valley, PA, Potsdam, NY, Scottdale, PA, Jerome, PA and Sheakleyville, PA. After retiring from full time ministry he took on the roll of Minister of Maintenance in Fishkill, NY, New Cumberland, PA and later moved to Ohio in July of 2001 and served in West Chester, OH. He worked at West Chester Nazarene until December 31, 2014 when he decided to totally retire at age 89.

John enjoyed baseball especially the Cincinnati Reds. He had the talent to repair and fix most anything. He liked cars and loved being with his family.

Visitation at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 5-8 PM and on Wednesday, at West Chester Nazarene Church, 7951 Tylersville Road, West Chester, OH 45069 from 10 AM until time of Service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Lebanon Cemetery.
