Joann Morgan

JoAnn (nee Nichols) Morgan, age 80, of Monroe, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at her residence.  She was born Monday, March 8, 1937 in Manning, South Carolina.

JoAnn was active in her church community until her health declined.  She enjoyed the challenge of cross word puzzles and sewing.  Although JoAnn did not enjoy cooking, she was a great hostess. She cooked amazing southern dishes like fried chicken, gravy, ribs and rice.  You could often find JoAnn watching a Soap Opera or even reading Soap Opera Digest.  Her family will fondly remember her southern sayings, off-beat church clap and how she never met a stranger. JoAnn will be missed by all that knew her.

JoAnn was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Cora (nee Barrineau) Nichols; her husband, James Morgan; 5 year old son, James Morgan, Jr.; son-in-law, Dennis Winkle; and 11 siblings.

JoAnn is survived by: her children, Debra Morgan, Susan Winkle, Bill (Jennifer) Morgan, and Barbara (Richard) Dennon; grandchildren, Tabitha Fehrenbach, Adam Winkle, Nick (Jenny) Morgan, Lindsay (Chris) Short, Kayla Morgan and Drew Morgan; great-grandchildren, Paige Lawson and Blake Dubose; sister, Ella Mae (Claude) Hendrix; sister-in-law, Ruby Nichols; and many nieces and nephews that said JoAnn was their favorite Aunt.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Funeral Service will be Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Journey Church, 7974 Barret Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069.  Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
