Genette A. Ellis

Genette A. (nee Alred) Ellis, age 92, of West Chester, Ohio, previously of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 28, 2017.  She was born Tuesday, February 17, 1925 in Harlan County, Kentucky to Harding Tolliver and Nellie Myrtle (nee Thornton) Alred.

Genette married her life-long sweetheart, Joseph A. Ellis, Sr. on May 6, 1956 in Maysville, Kentucky.  Although she was proud of her work at Oak Ridge, Tennesse, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and Elder-Beerman's Fine Jewelry department, being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother are what brought her the most joy.  She was a longstanding member actively involved in Huber Heights Church of God.  With a servant's heart, she volunteered for many organizations including American Red Cross where she taught CPR and First Aide.  Genette also served as Montgomery County Court of Election Precinct Judge for 20 years.  She looked forward to spending time with her friends at Till 'n' Tell Garden Club.

Genette was preceded in death by: her parents, Harding and Nell Alred; son, Jerry Michael; daughter, Linda Michael; and brothers, Eugene Alred, Ray Alred, David Kyle Alred, Virgil Alred and John Alred.

Genette is survived by: her children, Joseph A. Ellis, Jr., Ken (Dana) Ellis, Susan (Jack Delaney) Ellis-Delaney and Janet (Doug) Raters; grandchildren, Robert Ellis, Kyle Ellis, Patrick Delaney, Scott Raters and Steven Raters; great-granddaughter, Delilah Raters; sister, Lois Hayes; and many loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409.
