Richard E. Lamping

Richard E. Lamping, age 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Heritagespring West Chester.  He was born Saturday, November 9, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Stanley G. and Anna (nee McMahon) Lamping.

Richard received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Business Administration from Xavier University.  As a CPA, he started out in 1955 as a Field Auditor for the IRS.  Two years later, he was a founding partner of Butler, Lamping & Ramey.  It didn't take long before this business employed over 35 people, merging with Arthur Young & Company in 1969.  From April 1969 to 1990, Richard served as a Managing Partner of Arthur Young & Company in Cincinnati.  During these years, Richard also enjoyed lecturing and serving as a full time accounting professor at Thomas More College in Covington, Kentucky.  He also lectured on accounting, tax, succession planning, cash management and related matters at Xavier University, University of Cincinnati and numerous trade and professional associations.

Richard's love of golf was evident.  He was a member of Kenwood Country Club and had served as President of Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati from 1967 to 1968.  Richard also served on many boards of non-profit organizations. From 1989-1990, he served as President of the Southern Ohio Regional Transit Authority.

Richard also had a love of art.  He painted many pieces that his family will cherish for many years. His sense of humor was one of a kind and appreciated by all that knew him.  Richard will be missed by all that loved him.

Richard is the beloved husband of Shirley E. (Damaska) Lamping; devoted father of Dr. Kathy (Dr. Gary Woznicki) Lamping, Susan (Jerome) Barnes, Dr. Richard (Trish) Lamping, Chris Lamping and Dr. Sally (Robert Geis) Lamping; step-father of David (Jennifer) Damaska and Steven (Deborah) Damaska; proud grandfather of 13; great-grandfather of 1; dear brother of the late Stanley Lamping, Thomas Lamping and James Lamping; and loving provider to his dog, Millie.

A Visitation will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 Noon.  Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  Family and Friends are invited to attend a reception at Kenwood Country Club on Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
