He is the beloved husband of Neang Uch, devoted father of Sarom Vann, Savorn Vann (Samantha Phann), Saphann Vann (Vanna Chem), Sokha Vann, Vanna Sherer (Andrew Sherer) and Rithy Vann (Savuone Chau), loving grandpa of Narith Ethan Nhek, Davarith Andrew Nhek, Vibol Seth Vann, Nadavi Naythra Vann, Sidney Vann, Mason Vann and Levi Sherer.
Savath was a long time avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
