Daniel H. Johnson

Daniel H. Johnson of Fort Myers, FL passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 after some recent health challenges in Hope Hospice, Fort Myers, FL. He was 92. Daniel was born June 4, 1924 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Daniel M. and Sophia Johnson.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII. After returning to the states after the war, he began his long career as an electrician working with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers LU212. He was a member of the VFW Post #10097 of Fort Myers and American Legion - Melvin Cowart Post #274 of Fort Myers Beach. Daniel was also a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death  by his wife, Shirley and two sisters, Cecilia Macke and Sophia Dugan. He is survived by his children Ronald (Gloria) Johnson, Judith (late Charles 'Spike') Spiker, Sandi (Herb) Beck, Steve (Sharon) Johnson and Sharon (Tom) Miller. He is also survived by his sisters, Marlene Bender and Jeanine Currens; his brother Stanley Johnson; long time lady friend Velma Alvarez; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2-5 PM with Electrical Workers Union #212 conducting a service at 4:30 PM. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Monday, May 22 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Gardens with the Navy Honor Guard presenting Honors.
