Mary J. Christopher

Mary J. (nee Burke) Christopher, age 90, of Knoxville Tennessee, formerly of West Chester, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at University of Tennessee Medical Center.  She was born Sunday, November 21, 1926 in Brazil, Indiana to Claude E. and Bessie (nee Gillespie) Burke.

Mary was a proud homemaker and devoted mother.  She had five children in the span of six years, and loved watching her family grow as grandchildren and great-grandchildren were added to the family.  Although she was not Italian, she could cook like she was.  Her specialty was the largest Ravioli you have ever seen.  Just a couple would be an entire meal!

Mary was preceded in death by: her parents, Claude and Bessie Burke; grandson, Noah Christopher Brooks; and most recently her brother, William "Bill" Burke.

Mary is survived by: her husband of 70 years, Michael Christopher; children, Carol (husband, Bill) Thompson, Michelle (husband, Jim) Richter, Michael (wife, Bobette) Christopher, Patricia (husband, Rick) Winterrowd and Mary Christopher; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 8, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 48 West Sharon Road, Glendale, Ohio 45246.  Mass of Eternal Rest will be at 11:00 AM at the Church with Father David Fay presiding.  Interment will immediately follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
