Judith E. Long

Judith E. Long (nee Matre), 66, of Mason, OH passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017. Beloved wife of Tom Long for over 44 years, devoted mother of Gretchen (Mercury) Williams, Keith (Katie) Long, Keri (Scott) Turner, and Staci (Matthew) Noonan. Loving grandmother of Riley and Olivia Williams, Owen and Stella Turner, Emma and Kaitlyn Long, and Sarah and William Noonan. Dear sister of Mary Jeanne Overcash, Patricia Selmeier, Richard Matre, and Kristopher Matre.

Faith, family and music were the most important things to Judy. Classical music served as the soundtrack to family dinners and show tunes were the back drop to vacuuming and cleaning. At the annual family Christmas, Judy would share one of her most beautiful gifts, her voice. She would sing "Silent Night" for the gathered family and grandchildren, accompanied on keyboard by her husband, Tom.


Judy loved unconditionally. She filled her days with teaching and interacting with children. As the Director of St. James Daycare, Judy provided a safe and warm environment for children to learn and grow.  She also lovingly volunteered her time for her children's schools and her church.

Judy was most at peace when she was at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Days spent with feet in the sand and long walks along the shore with her family provided her with comfort and peace.


Above all else, Judy loved spending time with her grandchildren. Trips to the zoo, attending school and sporting events, Judy gave her time to supporting others. Each change of season brought an opportunity to create a craft project for her grandchildren. Her spirit of service to others will be missed.


Memorial gathering at St. Margaret of York Church, 9499 Columbia Road, Loveland, OH 45140 on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of Mass at 10:00 AM.
