Joan C. Valentine

Joan C. Valentine (nee Lang), age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. She was born Tuesday, August 8, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Francis J. Lang and Loraine L. Lang (nee Flick).  On Saturday, June 7, 1958, Joan married her best-friend, William E. Valentine at St. Dominic Parish on the Westside of Cincinnati. She earned her Bachelors degree as a Registered Nurse. Joan was proud to be a patient advocate for those affected with cancer. She found tremendous fulfillment in knowing that her care and expertise allowed the patients to maintain their dignity while being faced with so many decisions and treatments.   Joan was preceded in death by: her parents, Francis J. and Loraine L. Lang.   Joan is survived by: her loving husband of 58 years, William E. Valentine; children, Steve (Linda) Valentine, Sue Valentine, Rick (Shaun Farnsworth) Valentine, Tom (Dawn) Valentine and John (Janet) Valentine, sisters, Judith A. (Richard B.) Schwartz and Jane (Arnold) Gibson; brother, Thomas J. (Linda) Lang; grandchildren, Sarah (Nathan) Payne, Ben (Coral) Valentine, Haley Valentine, Scott Valentine, Matt (Hannah) Valentine, Clare Valentine, Zach Valentine, Nick Valentine, Joe Valentine, Jack Valentine and Jeff Valentine; great-grandchildren, Teddy Payne and Tucker Payne; and many other loving family members and friends.   A Visitation will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. A Time for Remembrances from the family will take place at 7:30 PM.   Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 5720 Hamilton-Mason Road, Liberty Township, Ohio 45011.
