Paul M. Bernhardt

Paul Martin Bernhardt was born February 3, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was the son of Elizabeth and George Bernhardt and attended Central Fairmount Elementary and Western Hills High School.  He also took his talents to the Art Academy where he enjoyed drawing and painting.  Paul bravely served his country in Italy during World War II.  He worked as a suit presser for H.A. Seinsheimer.

Paul was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Cincinnati, OH, where he enjoyed taking part in youth activities. While he was in Walther League, his church youth group, he met Clara Hessel.  The two were married September 25, 1948.

Their marriage was blessed with  daughter, Jane.

In 1958 Lee Goodeman moved in with the Bernhardts.  Together they traveled the United States and Canada.  "The Trio," as they were called, also journeyed to Germany, Switzerland, and Hawaii.  People often felt that Paul and Lee were brothers.

Paul loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener.  He enjoyed feeding the ducks and the birds on his patio.
But more than that he was a lover of people.  He always put others first and would do anything to help someone in need, whether he put newspapers by neighbors' door or he would play nurse to someone  who was sick.
Number one in his life was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Whom he now sees face to face.  His wife, Clara, daughter, Jane, son-in-law, Paul and grandsons, Scott and Andy, look forward to a grand reunion with him in heaven.

Visitation Monday, January 2, 2017 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Mason Christian Village, 411 Western Row Rd., Mason, OH 45040. Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, January 3, at 11:00 AM at Arlington Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
