Barbara L. Leugers

Barbara L. Leugers (nee Nieporte), age 75, of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her home. She was born December 18, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ralph and Frances (nee Glaser) Nieporte.

Barb had the “gift of gab”! Staying in touch with friends was always very important to Barb as she enjoyed going to dinner with longtime girlfriends and monthly LaRosa’s lunches with the neighborhood ladies from Stokeswood Court. Barb was a devout Catholic and took great comfort in attending Mass and having her daily prayer time. No one cleaned better than Barb. Prior to home answering machines she would take her phone off the hook on her weekly cleaning day - Thursdays. Family liked following her time in the cottage on Lake Leelanau because the place was never more clean! Barb enjoyed tending to her landscaping and raising daylilies that she would share with family and friends to plant. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family for holidays and weddings. Most of all, Barb was about her family. Talking with and spending time with her kids and grandkids brought her true joy. She will be sadly missed by all that loved her.

Barbara was preceded in death by: her parents, Ralph and Frances Nieporte; sister, Patricia Myers; great-aunt, Adelaide (Carl) Schonhoft and great-uncle Rev. Victor B. Nieporte, S.J.

She is survived by: her children, Karl (Kimberly) Leugers, Theresa (Joe) Fisher and Craig Leugers; grandchildren, Nicholas & Aubryanne Leugers, Eliza, Quinn & Eric Fisher; siblings, Mary (George) Rice and Bill (Lori) Nieporte; brother-in-law, Lindol Myers; many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.

Visitation will be Friday, September 16, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Father Eric Roush presiding. Interment will immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
