Janice P. Shipe

Janice Pauline Shipe, age 79 of Mason, Ohio passed away very peacefully after her brave fight with UIP lung disease Saturday, September 3, 2016 with her family by her side and her husband holding her hand to the sound of Amazing Grace playing.  Janice was born August 13, 1937 in Laporte, Indiana to the late Dorothy and Woodrow Hill.

Janice grew up in Laporte, Indiana where she met her husband of 59 years. Janice had many lifelong friends that she loved and cared for dearly and she would have done anything for anyone. She had a love for eating out and if you knew her at all you knew she loved Starbucks coffee. Janice was the resident manager & cook along with her husband  'Skip' Shipe for many years at the Indiana Baptist Assembly camp in Reesville, Indiana. Janice also volunteered at MCC Church for 3 years to be the Wednesday night cook and also volunteered to help at church with the envelopes and pencils in the pews. Janice loved playing card games and spending as much time with her family as she could. Janice had a love for Christian music and also liked to watch the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds play baseball . Janice was a very strong woman who fought to the very end and that she did. Anyone that was privileged enough to know her will miss her dearly.

Janice was survived by her loving & devoted husband Sheryl 'Skip' Shipe and her children Kim (Mark) Zeiner, Lisa (John) Barrie and Jennifer Shipe of Mason, Ohio, her oldest brother Tom Hill and loving sister-in-law Edy Hill of Oklahoma and youngest brother Dennis Hill and loving sister-in-law Laura Hill of Laporte, Indiana.

Janice was also survived by 9 wonderful grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren, Layton Zeiner, Nathan Zeiner, Lindsay (Jacob) Singleton, Amanda Zeiner, Whitney Callaway (Daniel) Sardina, Joshua Callaway, Victoria Callaway, Chloe Callaway, Madison Mincey, Ryan Barrie, Paige Barrie and Philip Barrie .

Visitation will be at Montgomery Community Church, 11251 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249 on Wednesday, September 7th from 10:30 AM until time of Celebration of Life Service at 12 noon. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
