Dorothy Hacker Campos

Dorothy Hacker Campos, age 85, of Walkertown, North Carolina, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Dottie was born Thursday, August 28, 1930 in Sprule, Kentucky to Benjamin F. and Nannie (nee Childers) Hacker.

Dottie was quite the business lady.  She opened the first Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Mason in 1976.  Her love of jewelry led her to become a specialist in diamonds while working for a jeweler in Savannah, Ga.  When she retired, she and Mario moved to Florida where she could enjoy the beach, ocean and of course, Disney.  Dottie enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was boating, camping, swimming or even just enjoying the beauty of nature.  Her family would often joke that they could not keep up with her while hiking.  She enjoyed cryptograms, puzzles, sewing, crocheting and quilting.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: her parents, Benjamin and Nannie Hacker; first husband, Albert Lester Gregory; second husband, Mario Campos; siblings, Finley Hacker, Phyllis Remer, Nell Ellis and Donna Jean Hacker; and son-in-law, Michael Marston.

Dorothy is survived by: her daughters, Carolyn (Charles) Gregory-Everett, Deborah (Rick) Gregory-Bicknell and Pamela Gregory-Marston; grandchildren, Chara Murray, Sean (Allison) Bicknell, Timothy (Jennifer) Bicknell, Steven (Brooks) Bicknell, Ryan (Laurie) Marston and Erica (Michael) Marston-Byrnes; great-grandchildren, Sailor Murray, Lauren Bicknell, Reagan Garcia, Rachel Bicknell, Dante Blevins, Kaitlyn Bicknell, Nolan Marston and Lennon Marston; siblings, Geneva Goins, Nollie Foreman, Ann Gamel, Raymond Hacker, Betty Packer, Christine Sullivan and Kathy Darnell; and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home.  Burial will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery.
