Jack G. Quackenbush, age 80, of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Hospice of Southwest Ohio.  He was born Sunday, May 24, 1936 in Springdale, Ohio to Russel and Elsie (nee Case) Quackenbush. At the tender age of 15, Jack donated blood to Hoxworth Blood Center for the first time.  His ongoing gifts of blood and platelets would continue for over 63 years, saving many lives.  In 2008, Jack was recognized by Hoxworth as their "Longest Active Donor." Stationed in Baumholder, Germany, Jack served in the US Army from1960 - 1962.  Upon returning from Germany, he was employed at Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 36 years. In October, 1962, he met a young lady by the name of Betty Roberts.  After four short months of courtship, he proposed to Betty on Valentine's Day in 1963.  On Saturday, June 22, 1963 he took the hand of his sweetheart and promised a lifetime commitment.  During their 53 years of marriage, they were blessed with 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Jack was a member of the Mason Lodge 678 F&AM where he served as Master in 1975.  Jack was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati.  His family and friends will remember him with love and laughter. Jack was preceded in death by: his parents, Russel and Elsie Quackenbush. Jack is survived by: his wife, Betty Quackenbush; children, Heidi (Mark) Mueller; Eric (Ann) Quackenbush and Keri Jo (Aaron) Hoyt; grandchildren, Alison (Jason) Cunningham, Lillian (Kristian) Beasley, Megan Quackenbush, Casey Jo Hoyt, Elijah Mueller, Jack Hoyt, Seth Quackenbush and Joshua Quackenbush; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Cunningham and Naomi Cunningham; and many other loving family members and friends. A Visitation will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. A Masonic Service with Scottish Rite will take place at 12:00 Noon.  The Funeral Service to celebrate Jack's life will follow at 12:30 PM at Christ's Church at Mason, 5165 Western Row, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Interment will immediately follow with military honors at Rose Hill Cemetery.
