Weatherbie, Virginia S., 88, beloved wife of the late Robert Weatherbie; devoted mother of Cynthia 'Cindi' (Larry Reitz) Weatherbie, Garry Weatherbie, Janette (Werner) Wischerath, Brad (Gwen) Weatherbie and Beth (Bill) Jones; loving grandmother of Rob (Hayden) Mericle, Bobby (Michelle) Hulme-Lippert, Michael (Kate Carson-Groner) Lippert, Scott (Michelle) Lippert, Lydia Weatherbie, Morgan Bamberger, Junia Weatherbie, Lyndsay Bamberger, Kendal Bamberger and Kylie (Alex) Weatherbie-Ward; great-grandmother of Emery Mericle and Leo Hulme-Lippert; sister of Rosalie Kemler, Helen Marie Oelschlager and the late Eugene Sedgwick; and aunt of many nieces and nephews, passed away, Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
Prior to the full time job of raising her five children, Virginia was a school teacher in a rural, one room school house in Kansas. She spent much of her time volunteering at Wyoming Presbyterian Church, where she served as both a deacon and elder over the more than fifty years that she was a member of the congregation. She was very involved with helping the homeless. She founded and directed Valley Interfaith Food and Clothing Center for more than 30 years. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and watching birds and squirrels.
