Carolyn L. Wuennemann (nee Meinking), age 96, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Chesterwood Retirement Village. The youngest of four children, Carolyn was born on Sunday, November 9, 1919 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Henry and Caroline (nee Brunswick) Meinking.
Carolyn belonged to the Air Force Wives Club as well as another club of friends whose husbands served in the United States Military. These group of friends would meet monthly and they kept in touch for many years. After leaving Cincinnati and moving to Florida, she developed her love for golf and bridge and made many lasting friendships.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry and Caroline Meinking; sisters, Edna Seilkop and Hilda Siemering; and brother, Henry Meinking.
Carolyn is survived by: her son, Timothy (Virginia) Wuennemann; daughter, Karen (Mark) Karaffa; grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Wuenneman, Sherri (Greg) Dunford, Scott (Desiree) Wuennemann, Kristen (Mike) Strum, Kelly (Kevin) Goldner and Matthew (Alyssa) Karaffa; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Interment will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family requests donations made in memory of Carolyn be directed to Hospice of Southwest Ohio, 7625 Camargo Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45243.
