Karol L. Laskowski

February 26, 1948 — April 23, 2016

Karol L. Laskowski, age 68, of Maineville, Ohio, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 23, 2016. He was born Thursday, February 26, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York to Stefan and Stella (nee Milwicz) Laskowski.

On September 6, 1969 Karol married his sweetheart and best-friend, Linda L. (nee Meyer) Laskowski.  They were blessed with a son and daughter they raised together and took great pride in their accomplishments. Through the years, Karol and Linda met and befriended many people creating a very large network of people they loved and considered extended family.

Karol received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Cincinnati and was a Registered Architect.  Karol initially worked with Roth Partnership, Glazer Associates, Bruce Robinson Architects, and Tom Dewey & Associates.  In the Spring of 1986, Karol found a home at PDT. Karol’s integrity, his attention to detail and his warm and steady demeanor were the foundation of the deep respect he earned from clients and colleagues alike.

Karol was a major creative force behind PDT for more than 30 years, and all his colleagues, not to mention PDT clients, owe him a great thanks for a large measure of the success that we have enjoyed.  Throughout the years there has not been a significant project at PDT that Karol did not have direct involvement with.  His creativity, knowledge of the industry and technical skills were fundamental to our accomplishments during his time with us.  To those more experienced, he was an ally and a resource; to the younger members of the team, Karol served as an adviser and a mentor.

Some Career Highlights at PDT:

GOVERNOR’S HILL AND GOVERNOR’S POINTE BUSINESS PARKS: Over the next 20 years Karol led PDT’s work with Duke including Master Planning and Building Design for Governor’s Hill and Governor’s Pointe Business Parks. Ultimately over 30 buildings totaling several million square feet were to be developed in the prime locations.

In addition to his building designs, Karol was an accomplished artist.  Most of his work has been given to family and close friends. A Christmas Bell he recently painted raised money for a local charity, Bridge Riding for the Disabled.  Digital painting had become a new way for Karol to express his artistic ability.  Done on an iPad, this type of painting could be done around the breakfast table as it did not require the set-up and clean-up time needed with acrylics and water colors.

Karol was preceded in death by: his parents, Stefan and Stella Laskowski; and his sister-in-law, Rebecca Meyer.

Karol is survived by: his loving wife of almost 47 years, Linda L. Laskowski; children, Kristopher (Megan) Laskowski and Lauren Laskowski; sister, Karolina (Bronek) Niedziela; brother-in-law, Gerald "Jack" Rhodes; nephew, Stefan (Kelli) Niedziela; great-nephew, Nikolas Niedziela; great-niece, Katelyn Merola; and many wonderful friends.
