Mary Alice Waters (nee Hayden), age 67, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 26, 2016. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 25, 1948, to William and Lenora (nee Devine) Hayden. The youngest of 7 children, she grew up in English Woods, where she attended Central High School.
Mary is survived by: her daughters, Allison (Scott) Culbertson, Tanya (Eric) Tognozzi, Stephanie (Stephen) Waters-Carpenter, Hollie Waters and Hope (Matt) Waters-Stewart; sisters, Linda Ramsey and Jayne Maloney; grandchildren, Arielle and Jack Culbertson, Taylor, Hunter and David Wines, Eden, Kaleb and Holden Waters-Carpenter, Gibson and Gabriella Waters, & Sabrina and Harrison Waters-Stewart.
Mary was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Lenora Hayden; husband, David H. Waters; sisters, JoAnne Withers, Patsy Alexander and Barbara Wright; brother, Ronald Hayden; and a great-grandson, Blake Tyler.
Mary met the love of her life, David H. Waters, and they wed on June 4, 1966. Mary and Dave were blessed with 5 daughters over the next 7 years. She was very adept at managing this bustling household even at times when Dave had to work out of town.
Mary stressed the importance of having God, family, strong moral values and a Catholic upbringing for the girls. She will live on through the life lessons of love, faith, family and hard work that she taught to her daughters through her words of wisdom and examples.
She was quite the green thumb, and enjoyed gardening in and outside her home. Mary had an appreciation for travel, good food, wine, and the fine arts. She loved the outdoors, and soaking up the peace and serenity of nature. She gave of her time to help others, and would share a special present with those she loved, always thoughtfully and carefully selected and beautifully gift wrapped. She loved a good party with great music that she could dance to with her family and friends.
Mary had an eye for art and home decor. She loved fashion and shopping, especially with her girls. Mary was blessed with being Grandma and GaGa to 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson, whom she immensely adored. This love was immeasurable and never doubted.
Mary worked various jobs after David's passing. More recently, was working as a Sales Representative for Construction Software in Blue Ash. She aquired many friends and was highly respected throughout the company. Mary was frequently asked to assist and train others as she was quite the natural sales representative.
Mary's family will always remember her bright eyed smile when reminiscing of the joy that BRAVO and HGTV brought her. As well as, the new recipe's she shared with them from the FoodNetwork.
The family will have a Memorial Mass on the 8th day of April 2016 11:00 A.M. at St. Susanna Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Immediately following the service a celebration of life will be held at the home of Allison & Scott Culbertson, 6575 Ashmont Place Liberty Twp, OH 45044. Per Mary's wishes.
