Bernadine L. Lachapelle

Bernadine L. (nee Kotch) LaChapelle , "Bernie" passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the age of 89 years.  Born Jan 13, 1927 in Flensburg MN, she was the 4th child of the late John and Bernice Kotch.  Being the 1st daughter of 14 children, she took on the responsibility of raising most of her younger siblings, of which she is last remaining.  She married her devoted husband, H. Vincent, in Detroit MI on Sept 9, 1950, later settling in West Chester OH to raise their family.  Bernie loved to fish, play poker, to golf and bowl and taught at Mason Bowl for years where she shared her knowledge and love of the sport with a new generation of champions.  She was an avid follower of the Cinti Reds and could be heard on many a summer day cheering for her favorite team.  Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Bernie is survived by her husband and children, Laura Douglas, Denise (Andrew) Beach and Mark LaChapelle, grandsons Alex LaChapelle and Tyler Douglas, along with his father Sam Douglas and many cherished nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at St John's the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9080 Cinti-Dayton Rd, West Chester OH on Wednesday, March 30,  2016 from 9:30 am until 11:00 AM with Mass immediately following.  Burial will be private.   Memorials in lieu of flowers are requested directed to Hospice of Cinti.
