On March 22 the earth grew a little darker and heaven a little brighter as we lost
Gerald Gibbons
. Gerald passed away at West Chester Hospital of natural causes. He is survived by his wife Maxine Gibbons, their two children, and 5 grandchildren.
Gerald was known by many nicknames the most prevalent was Gibby to his friends and Bumpa to the grandchildren. Gibby was born in December 1924 he and his twin were the youngest of 7 children. A Michigan native he meet his wife when they were both working at Becher, Peek, and Lewis in 1946 and were wed two years later. Gibby worked at Fisher Body which eventually became part of the General Motors Corporation. He was transferred to the GM plant in Norwood, Ohio in 1971, but his heart remained pure Michigan. An avid fan of the University of Michigan he was clad in blue and maze until the end. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
