Ruth Marie Huldeman

Ruth M. Huldeman (nee Moritz), age 94, of West Chester, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Chesterwood Village.  She was born Friday, May 6, 1921 in Lakewood, Ohio to Charles and Clara (nee Schaefer) Moritz.

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents, Charles and Clara Moritz; husband, Lester E. Huldeman; grandson, Robert Huldeman II; brothers, Carl Moritz, Walter Moritz, Robert Moritz and Herb Moritz; and sisters-in-law, Marian Moritz, Marion Moritz and Helen Moritz.

Ruth loved to garden and really enjoyed playing a good game of poker along with her husband.  As a resident of Chesterwood Village for eight years, Ruth was known and loved by everyone there.  Ruth's smile was contagious, and the entire nursing staff adored her cheerful and always polite demeanor.  One of her favorite sayings was: "Life's short; eat dessert first!"; accordingly, the Skilled Nursing Care unit at Chesterwood will long remember Ruth for her dietary mainstays of Lay's potato chips, Cheetos, Cheez-Its, Drumsticks & Snickers ice cream bars, and a nice can of Diet Coke or ginger ale!

Ruth is survived by: her children, Robert (Deborah) Huldeman, Marcia (Kerry) Poulos and Leslie Campbell; grandchildren, Matthew (Karen) Poulos, Darcy Snell, Erica Campbell, Adam (Melissa) Campbell, Alexander Campbell, Christy Harris and Austin Campbell; great-grandchildren, Jackson Poulos, Samantha Poulos, Isaac Snell, Enzo Snell, Reece Campbell and Lincoln Campbell; sister-in-law, Mary Moritz; niece, Shirley (Ted) Rusnak; nephews, Jim (Gladys) Moritz and Rick (Barbara) Moritz; and other loving family members and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at Chesterwood, especially nurses Amy and Erica who treated Mom like she was their own grandmother (Marcia will never forget you!).  Social Worker Shelly Bode kindly and patiently facilitated the family's adjustments to each unit Ruth resided on during her entire stay at Chesterwood.  Also, Ruth's family sends a big thank you to her wonderfully skilled and compassionate physician Dr. Pawel and the entire staff of Hospice of Southwest Ohio (all of whom are truly angels on Earth!), particularly Chaplain Tracy who spent many hours providing spiritual support, friendship and love to Ruth.  Your loving care of our mother and grandmother will always be remembered.

A Visitation will be held Friday, March 11, 2016, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home with Chaplain Tracy Paul Downs of Hospice of Southwest Ohio officiating.  Interment will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Valley View Memorial Gardens where we will meet at the main gate at 11:00 am.
