Mary Van Nuys

Mary Van Nuys, 93, passed away February 24, 2016. Born January 4, 1923 in Washington, D.C. and raised by the late Professor and Mrs. Frank Hitchcock. In 1943, married the late William L. Van Nuys, son of the late Senator and Mrs. Frederick Van Nuys of Indiana. Graduate of Wilson H.S. and Chevy Chase J.C. Worked for the Naval Relief Society from 1950-67 before becoming the parish secretary and later the Minister's personal secretary at Christ Church, Georgetown until 1991. Was then a receptionist at the Watergate Apts. before moving to Cincinnati in 2004. Mary is survived by her son, Frederick Van Nuys II. A private family memorial will be held.
