Anna Spellman

Anna L. Spellman (nee D'Anna), age 101, of Fairfield, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 3, 2016 with her daughter by her side.  She was born Friday, April 17, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio to Samuel and Ida (nee Piccioni) D'Anna.  While at Westover Retirement Community, she enjoyed being involved in the activities.  Anna loved music and while she listened, her fingers would move as though she was playing the piano.  A member of Shore Haven Lutheran Church in Euclid, Ohio, she regularly attended church at the retirement community as well.  Her family will remember her for being a "people person".  The type of person that put everyone's needs in front of her own.  As long as she was taking care of others, Anna was happy.

Anna is survived by: her daughter, Shelley (husband, Jerry) Rice; grandchildren, Todd (wife, Michele) Pytlinski, Jeffrey (wife, Jamie) Pytlinski, Jeff (wife, Angie) Rice and Jennifer (husband, Jude) Stepaniak; great-grandchildren, Jessa, Jillian, Juliet, Nicholas, Sawyer, Eli, Zane, Jayna and Gabriel; and many nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by: her parents, Samuel and Ida D'Anna; husband, Lloyd E. Spellman; and brothers, Samuel (wife, Milly) D'Anna, Roy (wife, Betty) D'Anna and Armand (wife, Marjorie) D'Anna.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the community of Westover.  The love and kindness that was given to Anna and her family will be remembered for years to come.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Corrigan Funeral Home, 21900 Euclid Avenue, Euclid, Ohio 44117.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:00 am at Corrigan Funeral Home.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Knollwood Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio.
