John F. Rychlicki, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, January 21, 2016. He was born Saturday, July 29, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to John F. and Ann (nee Klausinski) Rychlicki.
John served in the US Army during Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal (with Valor Device) and two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Vietnam Service Medal with Four Bronze Service Stars and several other Citations. John was a long-time Administrator for Woodhaven-Brownstown School District where he met many life-long friends. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid golfer, great at crossword puzzles, loved to play cards and any type of games, and found pleasure listening to any type of music.
John is survived by: his daughter, Adrienne (husband Keith) Custer; grandchildren, Brodie Custer and Colin Custer; sister, Judith Harnett; any many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, John F. and Ann Rychlicki; and his wife, Marilyn (nee Brodie) Rychlicki.
The Memorial mass will be held Friday, February 5 at 10:00 am at Divine Child, 1055 N. Silvery Lane, Dearborn, MI. A luncheon will follow at the Knights of Columbus, 23663 Park St., Dearborn.
