Charles T. Mason of Liberty Township, Ohio, born June 23, 1933 died Friday November 27, 2015 at the age of 82 following a long illness. He was surrounded by his wife JoAn (Davis) and his family who loved him dearly.
Charlie was born in Reading, Ohio, graduated from West Chester High School and married his high school sweetheart. They were married for 62 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp . He was always active in sports and enjoyed coaching his 3 sons. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and camping with his family. Watching his grandchildren and supporting them in their sports and activities was always exciting to Grandpa. He loved his great grandchildren and never stopped sharing and spreading love to them.
Prior to retirement from General Motors, Charlie and JoAn enjoyed traveling and cruising. Following retirement they began wintering in Ft. Myers, FLA until his illness. While there, he was very active in tennis, golf and sand volleyball. He was very proud of being on a winning volleyball team.
He always made time for serving and helping others at his church, RedBird Mission Camp in KY, M25M or helping his neighbors. In addition to family, he loved many friends here locally and in Ft. Myers.
He is survived by his wife JoAn, children Rick (Marge), Barry (Joan) and Mike. Sister Carol Mason and brother Don (Jan)Mason, sisters-in-law Winnie Davis and Carolyn Davis and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Tara (Jon) Boriss, Josh (Melissa) Mason, Kevin (Mandy) Mason, Angie (Jackie) Mason, Amy Mason, great grandchildren Joel and Ivey Boriss, Ethan and Sam Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Katherine (Manuel) Mason, sister Delores Mason, brothers-in-law Truman Davis and Jerry Davis, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Pat Ogel.
He was a long time member of West Chester Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday December 2 at Mueller Funeral Home 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Bill Love on Thursday Dec. 3 at West Chester Presbyterian Church, 8930 Cincinnati Dayton Rd., West Chester, Ohio at 10:00 a.m. followed by military graveside service at Springhill Cemetery, Liberty Township, Ohio.
