Barbara Anne (Szymusiak) Mutnick, wife of 30 years to Alan H. Mutnick of Mason , Ohio, beloved mother of Dr. Rachel Mutnick of North Liberty, Iowa, stepmother of the late Benjamin Mutnick, daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Szymusiak of Quincy, Michigan, daughter-in-law of Joyce and the late Paul Mutnick of Margate, Florida; sister of James and Monica Szymusiak (Dexter, Michigan) and Paul and Susan Szymusiak (Farmington Hills, Michigan); sister-in-law to Marcia and Stuart Bell (Hollywood, Florida) and Joel and Cheryl Mutnick (Cooper City, Florida), also survived by four nephews, two nieces, one great-nephew, and her beloved cat, Callie, passed away on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 surrounded by friends and family. Barbara was born in Dearborn Heights, Michigan on July 5th, 1954. She was a graduate of Bishop Borgess High School in 1972, The University of Michigan, College of Pharmacy in 1977, and received her Masters in Health Professions from Northeastern University, D'Amore-McKim School of Business in 1988. During her professional career, Barbara was a pharmacist at Harper Hospital of Detroit, Michigan, Memorial Hospital of Springfield, Illinois, The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and The University of Virginia Health System. During her career, as both a student and a pharmacist, Barbara made numerous lifelong friends who join her family in mourning, A Visitation will be held in the narthex of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 150 Taylor St., Coldwater, MI 49036 on Wednesday, November 11th from 1:30 PM until time of Mass at 2:00 PM. Interment will following at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Humane Association of Warren County (Ohio), The Mason Public Library (Ohio), Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center, and Caring for Creatures Animal Sanctuary in Palmyra, Virginia.
