US ARMY VETERAN Elzie Morton Halsey, Jr., 79, of Mason, OH passed away on Friday October 23, 2015 at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was born on March 4, 1936 in Jackson, KY to Elzie, Sr. and Kate Halsey. After graduating from Breathitt County High School in Jackson, he served in the United States Army. Elzie atteded College at OMA for two years. He began his career in electrical engineering at Formica, where he worked for forty years before his retirement. He was a member of West Chester Baptist Church and atteded Hope Church in Mason. Elzie was a member of the Masonic Lodge and loved fishing and golfing with his grandson, Layton Halsey. Elzie enjoyed playing cards with his friends. He was active in the Parkinson's Foundation and activities in Mason. Elzie is preceded in death by his parents, Elzie and Kate Halsey, brother, Quentin Halsey and brothers-in-law, Granis and John Salyers. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean; son, Scott (Terri); beloved grandson, Layton; brothers, Glenn (Nancy) and Paul (Fran); sister-in-law, Audrey; sister Mary (Richard) Farrell and a host of nieces and nephews and special friends, also his companion dog Sophie. Visitation at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Tuesday, October 27 from 10 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:30 AM.
