Amanda E. Niemantsverdriet (nee Kelch), age 92, formerly of Lafayette, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Heritagespring Healthcare Center, West Chester, OH. She was born Monday, January 1, 1923, in Rosedale, Indiana, to Henry H. and Lucinda Mabel (nee Taylor) Kelch. Amanda was a member of Elmwood Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing the piano and crocheting. After many years in the Nuclear Engineering Department, Amanda retired as an Office Manager in the Electrical Engineering Department of Purdue University. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry and Mabel Kelch; husband, Walter V. Niemantsverdriet; daughter, Cindy Vinard; and siblings, Mary Cook, Christina Bailey, Jo Kantz, Martha Kelch, Anna Butts and Jim Kelch. Amanda is survived by: her children, John (Sharon) Niemantsverdriet, Carolyn Niemantsverdriet, Sandra (Melvin) Branch and Betty (Mark) Whitworth; grandchildren, Ron (Amy) Niemantsverdriet, Jeff (Stacy) Niemantsverdriet, Joe (Jessica) Niemantsverdriet, Tim (Heather) Niemantsverdriet, Rick Vinard, Missy (Ron) Younker, Michael (Jessica) Harris, Stephanie (Brandon) Jones, Amy (Mark) DuBose, Brandon (Emily) Whitworth, and Caleb Whitworth; great-grandchildren Jenny Niemantsverdriet, Hallie Niemantsverdriet, Josh Niemantsverdriet, Cole Niemantsverdriet, Mitchell Niemantsverdriet, Anna Niemantsverdriet, Sarah Niemantsverdriet, Megan Niemantsverdriet, Kendra Younker, Regan Younker, Rileigh Younker, Lexi Jones, and Tyler DuBose; brother, Charles Kelch; and many other loving family members and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015, from 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Rd., Mason, OH 45040. A graveside service will be Tuesday, October 13, at 2:00 pm at Pyrmont Cemetery, Pyrmont, IN. Donations made in memory of Amanda may be made to Salvation Army.
